What does a bookkeeper cost for a sole trader?
At Wetaxus, bookkeeping for sole traders starts from €159 per month for the Basis package. This includes full administration, VAT returns and income tax returns. The Succes package costs from €179 and the Compleet package from €249 per month.
What tax deductions am I entitled to as a sole trader?
As a sole trader, you are entitled to several fiscal benefits: the self-employed deduction (€1,200 in 2026), the starter deduction (€2,123 extra in the first 3 years), the SME profit exemption (12.7% of profit) and potentially the small business scheme for VAT.
Do I need to file VAT returns as a freelancer?
Yes, as an entrepreneur you must file VAT returns, typically quarterly. You report the VAT you charged to customers and deduct the VAT you paid yourself. If your turnover stays below €20,000 per year, you may apply the small business scheme (KOR).
Can I submit my receipts digitally?
Yes, via our app you can photograph and upload receipts directly. The app automatically recognises the data and processes it in your administration. You no longer need to keep paper receipts once they are stored digitally.
When should I consider switching from sole trader to a BV?
Generally, a BV becomes fiscally attractive when your profit exceeds approximately €100,000 per year. However, liability risks and growth plans also play a role. Wetaxus advises you free of charge on the optimal timing and guides the complete conversion process.
